Earlier this week I was watching television and saw what appeared to be– and sounded exactly like– an iPad commercial.
Nope. No iPad.
Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S6 is typical Samsung. Steal whatever they can from Apple. Like Apple, Samsung is a hardware company and the latest and greatest is yet another challenge to Apple’s seat as the defacto hardware mindshare chief of planet earth’s tecnho-gadgets.
What’s coming that will set Samsung’s tablet apart from an iPad?
Specifically, dual cameras on the back (the current line of iPads has only one), and, a fingerprint sensor in the display.
Galaxy Tab S6 is going to feature a dual camera at the back. The specifics of this camera system haven’t been detailed as yet. However, this would be the first Samsung tablet to get it.
Rumors tend to be short on details.
With Samsung the rumors often have different homes so it’s necessary to jump around to gather the details. 91 Mobiles:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 will be the world’s first tablet to flaunt an in-display fingerprint sensor thanks to the Super AMOLED panel.
With Google out of the tablet business, and Amazon’s Fire tablets selling poorly, Samsung is iPad’s only competitor.
And, yes, since this is Samsung you’ll get an S-Pen, too.
The device will offer the functionality of both a tablet and a laptop, thanks to the support for Samsung DeX and optional keyboard accessory.
I like the idea behind DeX but Apple will never go for it as Samsung has. Apple wants customers to buy an iPhone, an iPad, and a Mac; not just an iPad or iPhone which can be used as a Mac.
Notably, the calls and messages will be synced between your phone and Tab S6 automatically.
I wonder where Samsung got that idea?
