Bill Bostock on the iPhone app that oppresses women in Saudi Arabia:
14 members of Congress have written to Apple and Google to demand that they stop hosting a Saudi government app which men can use to control and monitor women.
Keeping this application in your stores allows your companies and your American employees to be accomplices in the oppression of Saudi Arabian women and migrant workers
If it’s legal to track people in Saudi Arabia maybe Apple should stay out. After all, it’s not illegal for Apple to be supported by Google to allow Apple’s customers to be stalked by online advertisers and trackers.
