From Tera Thomas O’Brien on Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak’s public dissing of Tesla’s Elon Musk (compared to Jobs as a salesman):
OK, let’s look at what Woz did at Apple and what Jobs, the good salesman, did at Apple after Woz left. Wozniak was responsible for the engineering behind early Apple computers, and, uh, well… that’s about it. Jobs went on to launch Lisa and the Mac, form NeXT, make Pixar great, and returned to Apple to push out Apple Stores, launch iPod and iTunes, milk the Mac’s growing success, and introduce iPhone and iPad to herald the post-PC mobile device revolution.
What about Musk?
He co-founded PayPal and Tesla. He’s behind SpaceX, HyperLoop, giant batteries and solar panels, and the Boring Company. Yeah, there’s that flamethrower business, too, but you get the idea.
Summary:
There’s an old saying I remember from somewhere: “Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach.” Wozniak became a teacher after leaving Apple. What have you done lately, Woz?
Ouch.
