I have to agree with Natalia Nowak’s analysis here. iPhone X is sized more like iPhone 6, iPhone 7, and iPhone 8, not like the Plus models which have a slightly smaller screen.
iPhone X starts at $999 and because the screen has more pixels and is longer than the iPhone 8 Plus screen– 5.8-inches vs. 5.5-inches– we think we’re getting more screen and advanced technology for a couple of hundred dollars more.
That’s the sneaky part. You don’t get more screen than a Plus. You get less.
What about next year? Now you’ll see how sneaky Apple is about price. Assume that iPhone X circa 2018 starts at $999 again. What will the price be on the larger 6-ish-inch screen iPhone X Plus model? It’s likely to start at least $100 more than iPhone X in 2017, so $1,099.
Next year we’ll see iPhone X Plus and it will cost even more.
