Everyone is jumping into the cable TV killer game with streaming television packages. Tera Thomas O’Brien points out what we should have realized earlier.
For at least a decade we’ve been treated to a string of cable TV killers and and to cries of ‘cut the cord.’ Yet, cable TV is still here. Even Apple TV, long heralded as the future of television has become a cumbersome mess of applications that just don’t work well enough to cut the cord.

What about Google’s YouTube TV?
Sorry. YouTube TV is not a cable TV killer any more than Sling and others. Unless you agree with me that they’re killing cable TV from 1987; back in the day when all we had were a few dozen channels of local TV, network TV, cable TV channels, and we paid a few dozen dollars a month.
Not much has changed.
