Remember way back when, back when Microsoft paid the NFL to make the Surface tablet the NFL’s official tablet, back when NFL announcers continued to call the devices iPads? You remember that, right? This past weekend the Surface units failed (again) during the AFC Championship game but now the announcers called it what is is. A Microsoft Surface tablet.
Funny thing. And true story. Microsoft has bad karma. Here’s another example from Owen Williams.
Funny things happen when you’re no longer championing the least popular phone platform out there: you stop using it.
Joe Belfiore is technically the Corporate Vice President, Operating Systems Group at Microsoft, but he took a year off starting in October 2015 for a worldwide trip.
So his Microsoft buddies, friends, and family would expect to see tweets and Facebook and Instagram photos of him traveling the world with his newest Microsoft Windows Phone, right?
Belfiore, who is currently in Kyoto, has been tweeting pictures of his trip and posted a single tweet that gave away his phone of choice — Apple’s iPhone.
See? Microsoft can’t catch a break because it doesn’t deserver a break.
