HP introduced their latest computer, the HP Slate 7, an Android OS tablet. Every component is uninspired, off-the-shelf, and more or less inferior to competing products except the $169 price tag.
HP is not in a position to go head-to-head with Apple’s iPad. Android tablet apps are few and far between. A higher build quality would increase the price, therefore, decrease sales volume.
What other choice did HP have other than start at the bottom and hope for the best?
