Copying features and functionality in the technology world is rather commonplace. Nothing is sacred. So, why is Apple so upset at Samsung’s blatant copying of the iPhone and iPad? It’s one thing to copy a piece here or piece there, but Samsung’s reputation for wholesale ripoffs of other company’s designs is notorious.
Check the great graphic comparison from MDN:
That’s what you call blatant. From the Sydney Morning Herald comes Samsung’s new retail store. Look familiar? Of course it does.
Today, Microsoft introduced a new corporate logo. Taking a cue from Adobe and Google, Microsoft went for the block look (like Adobe apps) and the color scheme from Google Chrome (though Microsoft used similar colors on the Windows logo).
Microsoft, Google, and Samsung all claim to be technology innovators, but it looks to me as though whatever they do is mostly a remix.
Ah, what the hell. Everything is a remix.
