Man, I love this industry. Which industry? Technology? Computers? Smart phones? Nope. Apple watching.
Actually, Apple watching has multiple dimensions. It’s sort of a bi-polar effect. Apple watching, meet Apple bashing.
Today there’s intel from someone in the know who works for a company that does business with Apple and other companies and knows something about international shipping and customs and says “something big is about to happen.”
Uh huh. Right. Sure. As if we’ve never heard that before. Michael Nace scoops up the details and struggles to make an entire report out of whispers and innuendo but it’s par for the course.
Sometimes, those of us who watch Apple see much more than is really there. So, what wicked new product from Apple this way comes?
From Mr. Spock:
Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
If you don’t know what it is, describe what it ain’t. Nace’s source says it’s not MacBooks or iPads. But all the customs paperwork is being prepared. And units are being shipped.
Insufficient facts always invite danger.
The danger here is hype. Apple doesn’t hype much. They present, they smile, they ship, they move on to the next thing.
Who would expect a new iPad model just a few months after the last iPad (which is called the new iPad)? A seven inch iPad? A new iPhone?
Hmmm. Wait a minute. May is back to school buying season for schools and we all know they love Macs, but need to get their orders in soon. New MacBook models in May?
Change is the essential process of all existence.
No, this is just another in a long, long line of Apple product rumors. TV, liquid metal Macs, liquid metal iPhones, a seven inch iPad, free sushi for all.
It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want.
In other words, Apple still knows how to surprise. And disappoint. When they give us what we don’t expect, we’re surprised. When Apple gives us what we expect, we’re disappointed.
I have never understood the female capacity to avoid a direct answer to any question.
Yeah, I get that a lot.
