Chris Burritt in Bloomberg reports that Apple will push iPads into all of Best Buy’s 1,093 retail stores before the holiday season begins. Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn:
We see the iPad as the magnificent shining light in what will become a whole new category, and that is tablets. In many cases, it’s an incremental device. In some cases, it’s a substitute device for netbooks. We think that’s going to stimulate a lot of customer interest.
With no waiting to get an iPad in Apple stores or online, I wonder if the Best Buy roll out is more of a way to reduce inventory.
