Is this to be the ultimate leveraged device from Apple? I’m willing to agree that Apple’s next generation MacBook (whether it’s called MacBook or iPad or whatever else, but not ‘tablet’) could be a hybrid tablet that runs both Mac OS X and iPhone OS. From Ron at Mac360:
Let me recap where my tree limb has taken those of us willing to speculate and prognosticate for Apple’s future devices. The name? iPad or MacBook. The OS? Both Mac OS X and iPhone OS X. Wireless, Bluetooth, USB, video out, no SuperDrive, SD card slot, 10-inch multi touch screen.
I’m with you so far, credit card warmed up and ready to go.
Wait. There’s more. On screen, multi-touch keyboard, one click option to run iPhone OS X apps and games in Mac OS X, and an optional keyboard. Both aluminum and plastic models. Optional MiFi model. Priced from $699 to $999.
Seriously, this could be the ultimate portable device. If it’s Intel-based it could run Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and iPhone OS. Think of the utility it would have for schools, businesses, road warriors, and everyone else; especially if priced well below $1,000. The real worry is, will it be the only non-pocket device that people need?
