Whatever the official or unofficial reasons may be that Flash isn’t running on iPhones or iPads, apparently Flash is running all that well on Android phones. Ian Betteridge in Technovia:

Pretty bad. In fact, if you’re thinking video, utterly unusable... Ignoring the broader reasons for Apple wanting to keep Flash off its platform, it’s clear that Flash is simply too processor-intensive to work properly on mobile-class processors as currently specified.

[more] than 8,000 Americans who listen to National Public Radio on their iPhones (rather than, say, their car radios) between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on a typical weekday morning—one of the more surprising results of an hour-by-hour study of listener habits released by NPR Wednesday.

Guilty. Instead of radio I stream all kinds of shows on my iPhone while riding the subway into Manhattan.

When you get it your hands, it feels very usable and likeable. But, the Dell Streak is much more like a smartphone than a tablet and when you compare it to the other top-of-the-line smartphones, it becomes much less attractive. If you really want an Android device with a big screen that feels like a small tablet, I’d recommend the 4.3-inch HTC EVO 4G over the Dell Streak.

The unasked and unanswered question? Is it an iPad killer? Or, what is it? A smart phone or a tablet?

How do you escape your online past? Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt, says to change your name.

Eric Schmidt suggested that young people should be entitled to change their identity to escape their misspent youth, which is now recorded in excruciating detail on social networking sites such as Facebook.

What else does Schmidt say?

I actually think most people don’t want Google to answer their questions. They want Google to tell them what they should be doing next.

This guy is creepy.

This is deja vu all over again. From Microsoft’s Windows 7 website comes PC vs. Mac. Three points from Macs might spoil your fun:

You can’t get a Mac that ships with a Blu-ray player, TV tuner, Memory Stick reader, or built-in 3G wireless. You can with PCs running Windows 7.

Most of the world’s most popular computer games aren’t available for Macs. And Macs can’t connect to an Xbox 360. PCs are ready to play.

Most Macs can’t hook up to your TV unless you buy a converter dongle. Many PCs running Windows 7 are designed to connect directly to TVs, so you can watch movies and see photos on the big screen.

Sigh. They make it so easy.

#1 - Most PCs don’t ship with those features, either, but all can be added to a Mac. #2 - Macs run Windows so whatever runs on Windows runs on a Mac, including Xbox 360. #3 - PCs still require a converter or cable to hook to a TV; just like a Mac.

According to Asymco, in the three years since Apple launched the original iPhone, the company owns about half the profits of all cell phone makers.

Apple in particular is capturing about half of the available profits with three percent of the units. It dwarfs all the other vendors, more than double the nearest (Nokia). All that in three years and with the added burdens of only three models, a recession and limited distribution.

Android is aligned with the losers. Will Android help them to profitability?

The price of the Research In Motion BlackBerry Torch has been cut in half - to $99.99 - on Amazon.com and some other sites, less than a week after the new phone went on sale at $199.99. Early reports from the Street suggest sales of the new phone have been tepid at best. The $99.99 price is with a two-year contract with AT&T.

To be fair to my schadenfreude nature, Apple also cut the price of the original iPhone to spur demand, but not half price and not a week after launch.
