love your site, but disagree with you utterly here. i’ve used spam sieve on BOTH entourage and with apple’s mail. and thus far, for my money (which is not vast), the very best spam protection is with gmail.

here’s why gmail spam filtering is better:

+ it’s free
+ it works better than any other solution
+ it has phishing reporting built in

i now route all of my mail through gmail and i’ve got, literally, about 5 pieces of spam a week. down from, even with spam sieve, about 5 per day.

spam sieve is good,  don’t get me wrong. but baysian filters REQUIRE that you train them. i’m trying to reduce spam AND time. i just don’t need the trouble.

big corporation or not: gmail’s the way to go for me until another start-up comes along and does it better.

done deal.
