I’m a card carrying Mac tinkerholic. I tinker, I dink, I tweak, I check. One of the utilities that I use to tinker on my Mac, one of many, is OnyX. It’s free.

I’ve been using OnyX for several years, since I was running Panther on several Macs, and it has always contributed to the stability and running speed without ever once doing anything to harm the OS. I think it’s the best all-around maintenance utility for OS X, any version. (The version for OS X Tiger 10.4.11 runs much faster than earlier versions, not sure about later, Leopard versions, as I don’t have the OS.)
