My family is large. No, it’s huge. Half of the family is from Scotland, and the other half from Puerto Rico. Needless to say, the only place that both families get together is on my Mac. My family project for the 21st century is to create a family tree. My Mac utility of choice? MacFamilyTree.

I looked at MacFamilyTree but decided to go with the more powerful Reunion. It can store anything and everything, including multimedia, and is fully GEDCOM compliant. I have almost 2300 names going back 15 generations.

I found Reunion to be a little to complicated for my simple tastes. MacFamilyTree is easier to set up. I also tried GEDitCOM. All seem to do the same kind of thing a little bit differently.
Which did I select? Nothing, yet.
