How Many Clocks Does a Mac Need? This One

Travel is my life. There are times when I don’t know the correct time because I can’t remember which time zone I’m in, whether or not it’s daylight savings time (or, I’m someplace where there is no DST), or if I’m coming or going. I depend on my Mac and iPhone to remind me what time it is now, and what time it is where I’m going.

One Click Clocks In The Menubar

Lately I’ve been on a kick to find attractive, useful, usable and inexpensive apps for my Mac. Apps that do something I need, but are priced as if they were iPhone or iPad apps.

That’s Clocks.

It fits in the Mac Menubar. One click gets you a list of programmable clocks for various destinations, pretty much anywhere in the world.

Clocks

Options are nominal. Auto launch at login. Use a hotkey to pop down the clocks. Set it for 12 or 24 hour clock. And have it display the location and date and time in the Menubar (much better than the Mac’s default clock setting).

I like that the clocks display time in both analog and digital format.

Clock Settings

Simple, right?

Click the Plus + button in the pop down to add a new city to the list. The city selection can be renamed, too. You can change the name of the city to Home or Wife but leave the time zone.

Clocks is nicely done. It’s Mac App Store only, but so inexpensive it’s worth the try.
