If you’re new to the Mac do you still fret and worry over Mac viruses, worms, botnets, and other malware? Rich Mogull’s Mac security: what you can ignore on Macworld reaches the right conclusion for the wrong reasons. On viruses and worms:
Let’s be completely clear: there are absolutely no technical barriers preventing worms or viruses from infecting the Mac platform.
That’s completely disingenuous and contrasts with Mogull’s conclusion: “Viruses, worms, and botnets? Still not a threat to the Mac.” While no major desktop operating system is completely safe from malware, there are technical barriers which make creating viruses, worms, and malware more difficult on a Mac.
