Just when you thought the iTunes’ App Store was the cat’s meow, along comes Intel with their own app store. This one is called Intel AppUP and it’s just for netbooks.
Intel’s AppUp store can be accessed through a desktop application for Windows netbooks. Download it and you’ll be able to access Intel’s app catalogue.
Catalog? How many apps so far?
Current apps on Intel App Up include a Boxee app. Intel has also make its SDK available, so if you got developer skills you can start building your own apps.
Oh, so it’s kind of a Bring Your Own Apps™ app store?
Intel plans to expand App Up to other devices in the future, with mobile phones, other handhelds and smart TVs like LG’s forthcoming broadband connected TVs.
I’ll check back this time next year to see how AppUP is doing.
