The Mac’s Safari browser is faster than Google’s Chrome browser (beta)

Google’s Chrome browser for Mac enters beta (isn’t everything from Google a beta?) and is freely available for download. How fast is it? Apple’s Mac Safari remains the speed king, but not by much. Gregg Keizer in ComputerWorld:

Chrome renders JavaScript 10 times faster than Opera 10.10 and almost twice as fast as Firefox 3.6 Beta 4, the most recently-released Mac version of Mozilla’s open-source browser. But Chrome can’t match Safari 4.0.4’s speed: Apple’s browser is approximately 12% faster than Google’s beta.

Mac users live in the golden age of browsers. They all good. Try Google Chrome but be prepared to be underwhelmed by the feature set.
