Let’s blame AT&T for O2’s network woes

From across the pond, mobile phone network O2 feels the wrath of iPhone users. Sky News:

O2 has had a number of outages over the past year – the problems are thought to be down to strain from the large amount of people using its network.

One could ask, is the iPhone really good for a cell phone network? O2’s response to the problems:

We are aware of an issue currently impacting data access for some of our customers. We have identified a fault with the allocation of IP addresses and are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. We apologise to any affected customers.

How would Verizon’s network fare against a few million iPhone users?
