With all the new browsers on the market, Mac or PC, I wonder if there might be a hidden business model for revenue and profits. The latest browser vaporware is called RockMelt and it comes from Netscape founder Marc Andreessen, who co-developed the Mosaic browser back in the early 1990s. Thom Holwerda of OS News:
Marc Andreessen knows his browsers. He was a key player in the history of two of the most important browsers, so when he decides to put his weight behind a new browser project, you can be sure people will notice. RockMelt, as the project is called, is currently nothing more than a web page, and Andreessen is very reluctant to say anything about it.
RockMelt is pure vaporware, Andreessen’s vain attempt to capture the glory of yesteryear by attracting investment money to a product with no business model.
