2009: The Year of the Mac Software Bundles

Hot on the heels of the very successful MacHeist bundle is the MacUpdate bundle and now TheMacBundles. Will it ever end? Maybe. When I have all the Mac software there is to have, or when the only software bundles come from Apple, Microsoft, and Adobe because everyone else went out of business giving away their products for pennies on the dollar. This new bundle comes as a collaboration between MacEase and Kagi:

MacEase Software and Kagi have combined forces to create TheMacBundles.com, a new website that brings unprecedented value to consumers. Bundles on TheMacBundles.com differ from traditional bundles because they use a cooperative marketing model. This creates a win-win situation that provides consumers with the highest quality software at the lowest prices available anywhere while also providing developers with an equitable distribution of the revenue from sales of the bundles.

Nine Mac applications and utilties for $49.95. I’m not sure how their ‘cooperative marketing model’ differs from any other Mac bundle. And I would trust MacEase more if their web site didn’t look like something circa 1995.
