Microsoftworld hit piece by Ira Winkler calling for the FTC to investigate Mac security. Why? Apparently Apple is negligent when it comes to fixing vulnerabilities.
A ZDNet summary of 2007 vulnerabilities showed that there were five times more vulnerabilities for Mac OS than for all types of Windows PC operating systems. How can Apple get away with this blatant disregard for security?
Would someone please explain to the folks at Microsoftworld that all PC operating systems have vulnerabilities, and that a vulnerability does not an exploit make. Is there a chance that the FTC could investigate the publication and the writer for fear mongering and fomenting misinformation simply to increase page views and advertising impressions?
